Craft: Yarn Wigs

Halloween costume ideas!

I was stumbling across the interwebs and came upon simple directions for a yarn wig, so I decided to make a rainbow one for Rainbow Day during Ally Week for GSA. It was pretty easy, it only took me two M*A*S*H episodes worth of time (approx. 2 hours). I loved the result so much I made another one for the little girl I babysit, she loves pink and purple, don't they all at that age? Though I'd share my good success! If you want the directions, I can share them with you. Just give me a shout!

Pumpkins Round 1

A fun time was had by all, tonight we started the halloween week! My pumpkin is the companion cube in the middle, and my brother's friend did the Aperture logo to the left. My brother got a new droid phone, so he carved the droid man on the far left. My dad and step-mother did more traditional face pumpkins on the right. We're saving the seeds to bake for a fun autumn snack, they're better than potato chips! Looking forward to Halloween, best holiday of the year!

Fall Photos

I had a photo-shoot today and took 240 pictures! I went no further than my neighborhood park and had a great time in between climbing trees and laying on the ground for best results. I only got about 10 quality pictures, but it was a fabulous way to spend my Sunday! Here are the hi-lights of the photos, enjoy the fall weather while you can!

We're carving pumpkins tonight, so look for those photos soon!

Dalek Cake

Remember the Dalek cake I talked about? Well, I made it today and it was a smash! It took me 3 episodes of Hogan's Heroes to decorate, so approximately an hour. But I think it was well worth it.

Soon I will post more LGBT, I promise I'm not just a crazy Doctor Who fan

Almost, Maine

Fall show is now in production! This year we are putting on Almost, Maine. This show is comprised of eight smaller scenes about relationships, wether they are brand new or failing or discovering new feelings. This is a tender play we are showing in our fabulous black box theatre for a more intimate feel. The costuming is fairly simple, mainly winter wear and lots of flannel. What's really fun is the lighting technique we are using to create the northern lights. On the floor, we have two RGB (red, green, blue) strip lights shining up, and we have gobos in our front-of-house light. I can't wait for production!

TARDIS cake

My brother's birthday was today, he loved his scarecrow mask. In my family, I'm the one who decorates most of the cakes, so I decided to do something special for my Whovian brother. I made this awesome TARDIS cake with dark and light blue frosting. I added a key and necklace we had laying around just for decoration. I wish I had one of those "ERA" keys made by the BBC, but there's a limited amount. That one will have to do for now. My uncle's birthday is Wednesday and I'm thinking of trying to make a Dalek cake... We'll see. Thanks-
